ABOUT US
Hello, we're the Dixon's,....Carol and Doug. Our Home is in Gainesville Texas
My husband Doug is a retired Police Officer. He was one of the sergeants on the Gainesville Police Department and has spent 44 years in law enforcement. He was also a Sky Marshal assigned to Trans World Airlines during the 1960's. Their job was to stop the hijacking of U. S. Aircraft.
Doug now spends most of his time raising Giant Canadian Geese, and helping with our cat rescue program |

Doug also sees that things run smoothly if Carol is away at a dog show, or off on a photographic shoot filming Polar Bears in the high Arctic of Canada, Alaska or Svalbard Island near Russia.
Here's an example of her work, a male Polar Bear checking the ice flow edge for seals on Svalbard Island, 80 degrees North Latitude,
about 500 miles from the North Pole. |

Carol, has been involved with Purebred Dogs since she was 11 years old. Instead of "baby sitting" to earn extra money as a child, she developed a "Dog Walking" business after school. By age 13 she was showing the family cocker spaniel at AKC shows and obedience trials.
Carol's interests are wide ranging and include horse showing in both English and Western, Classical Music, Genetics, Professional Photography, Veterinary Medicine, and her life long devotion to the Siberian Husky.
Carol is also an excellent artist, working in many different mediums. Her photographs and drawings are seen through out this web page. She has also produced hand painted trophies for many different Breed Specialties including the Shiba Inu, Kerry Blue Terrier, Samoyed, Norwegian Elkhound, Shetland Sheepdog, and the Siberian Husky Club Of America.
Carol has won numerous awards for her art work and photography. |
Carol's devotion to the Siberian Husky started at an early age as she watched "SERGEANT PRESTON OF THE YUKON" and his team of Huskies on television. She acquired her first Siberian Husky in 1962 and has worked tirelessly, trying to maintain the True Type, Temperament, and overall Quality of the breed.
With a major in Genetics, Carol will only breed dogs that undergo and pass both their O.F.A. HIP CERTIFICATION and C.E.R.F. EYE EXAMS given by a Board Certified Canine Ophthalmologist. Only dogs that pass both exams will be used in the breeding program.
Carol considers her self very fortunate to have been able to count as personal friends many of the founding people in the Siberian Husky breed. Kathryn Hulen, Carolyn and Charlie Posey, Lorna Demidoff, and "Short" Seeley all imparted much of their vast knowledge about the Siberian Husky to her. |
